OOOOOOOOOH! What a win/win situation!! I am so thrilled for you. I know you agonized over the commute and obviously this woman thought as highly of you as you did her and it worked out!

Btw.. yesterday was Joe's birthday.
Champagne

He's not on the website much anymore, but I figured it would be nice to mention anyway..

and the job..

I'm not sure if I hate it or not. Its alot of corporate crapola that drives me insane. And alot of double/triple paperwork that is just rediculous...but maybe as we go paperless some of that will disappear.

I'm giving it 30 days. Then I'll decide if I'm staying or going.

And in the meanwhile I am actively pursuing and working on a new business that is co owned by me and 2 other friends...

More details about that when it becomes 'public'. I am hoping within 3 yrs to be focusing on it full time.

Well Loui, at least you've got a job. I wouldn't quit unless you had something else lined up. My DS19 has a summer job on his campus. He said he gets paid a lot for doing nothing and hates it. I asked him if he ever thought he'd be saying something like that. His response, "No."

New business venture? Sounds great. Does it have something to do with art?

And, Happy Birthday Joe. Hope all is well for you. Celebrate

Sigh.. I wish...but now is not economically the time for 'art' ventures either.

This is with a friend I had a business together with for awhile. It is a 'creative' business and could help Joe along with his hot dog cart too. As soon as the website is up and running I'll post a link.

You know HoF's there's something to be said for having a job. There's another to be said for retaining one's sanity. The jury is still out on this one.

Well.. just an update.

I got the job.. and I hated it. I hated it so much I was coming home crying everyday... and I swore that I would never do that again the last time I had a job that made me miserable.

So... after going home with a migraine and calling in sick from it...I spoke to my supervisor and I told her how much I hated what I was doing.. BUT.. I saw something in the offices I had been in that was a huge problem. And I came up with an opportunity to help alleviate this problem...which would afford me to change what I was doing within the company, help solve a huge problem and keep me employed. She liked the idea and now thats what I'm doing. (it has to do with helping the company go paperless)... And I work a 4 day work week.. with my hrs being pretty much open ended.. more than 30, less than 40. (I'm trying to keep it between 32-35 a week.) Which leaves me an extra day for this...

Working on my own business...which is selling identity theft protection and identity restoration services..
So if any of you are interested in that...let me know.

Anyhoo..

I am a much happier camper and a much less stressed camper...which makes Joe alot happier to be around me. I was driving him nutty cause he knew there was really nothing he could do to help.

Oh and on the art front...I met a woman yesterday who is the person in charge of the art store at the local Art center where I take my pottery classes. She said I should bring some of my work in and she'd put it up to sell!

so YAY!

Joe, OTOH.. is still working insane hours..though he seems to think it will slow down pretty soon...maybe only 1 or 2 hrs of overtime a day rather than 3 or more per day...

And he's got some ideas he's kicking around as well in terms of business ideas...but we'll just keep those quiet for now.

Oh..and the backyard is almost done! The flagstone/rock paths are in.. the rock & flower beds are done.. the cement patio is done...the pond is.. ponding..the fish.. are swimming. The only thing really left is his little putting green. I'm thinking he'll finish that up when its not raining everyday and 90+ degrees.

New bathroom cabinet & granite countertops will be going in next week hopefully... new sink/faucets/lights..I'm excited!!

Yup.. things are just moving right along.

oh yeah.. and I still luv the guy to death too. We just celebrated our 2nd year living together.
dance

yup. Things are looking up... just wish that lottery number would win....Laughing

Well I guess since this is my journal, my journey...this weekend should be mentioned.

Joe and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. We spent the weekend at a lovely local resort and he gave me a gorgeous 3 stone diamond ring (the past, present, future style with channel set diamonds on the side)...We're calling it the unring.

Joe said he realized when he bought it, it would be acknowledging a commitment and he's happy. I was stunned. Completely caught by surprise..and I still keep staring at my hand..

My girlfriend who is a pagan priestess had said to me just last week..owww..when are you guys doing something?? I can write you a gorgeous handfasting ceremony, first because I know you so well, second because I can include some Jewish aspects for you and third because I love you guys.... So..eventually we'll have some kind of commitment/handfasting ceremony and I'll let everyone know when we decide on that.

Right now..I am just so in love with this guy....

So... hmmm.. its been awhile...

I lost the job I so despise...and I'm not the least bit upset. A little worried about $$ but not overly concerned.
I am working as an independent contractor for 2 companies and possibly a 3rd in the sping. Hopefully my unemployment will be reinstated as I only worked for 5 months with this company.
Joe and I are planning a trip to Italy this summer.
And maybe the handfasting/commitment ceremony in the summer as well.
Joe is still working insane hrs and the company still has him on as a temp rather than hiring him as a permanent employee.. its been about 9 months now.
He finally got a new car.. tee hee.. a mini cooper convertible. Its SO fun...

Life is good, we're both happy..
What else can be better?.. Oh. Well.. we COULD win the lottery...but thats a longshot Laughing
