Okay, I know there is a proper forum for such a question (aka daily something something grind Big Grin ) but I feel like being well, bratty and putting it here. Muhahaha.

So my real question is: What do you do to goof off?

Okay here's my list:

*Ask silly questions. Asked a professor last year what she did for fun and she said she read research journals. Brow
*Youtube Computer things like today: old videos, scenes from the Goonies and the Burbs and weird science things
*Watch old favorite tv shows like Carnivale, Lost and new favorite Heroes. tvshow
*Search for recipes I will never bake or cook. stirring the pot
*Rearrange the pictures on the wall. shrug Why ask why?
*Send a bunch of ecards from Jackie Lawson's site - yes that one really helped me avoid writing the paper that was due the following day - the adreneline rush of pounding through that paper later was an added bonus. dance
*Play Soduku, then do another, then another soduku, then ...well you get the point.
*Look through garden catalogues and dream of someday actually having time to plant anything
*Add songs to my playlist fruitconga
*Delete old emails - I don't ever delete emails for some reason jaw drop
*Ponder small things like why do we have eyebrows? Probably just so we can raise them. Brow Raise Eyebrows Brow1
*Laugh at all the graemlins there are. rotf

So really this list should be retitled - How I kept my sanity through grad school at 43, no 44 - I had a birthday. Duh!

So please pretty please with chocolate on top tell me what do you do to goof off or if you want do for fun? Big Grin

Tiggy

Oh Tiggy... this is fun...:-)
Sleep late.. & stay up late
Google something... anything
Spend time with b/f
Watch TV My favs are: Two Men and a Half, Grey's Anatomy, House, Dancing with the Stars, CSI.
Run a couple of miles. Well, I never ...like the first mile maybe not even the second mile it depends on the day but I love the miles after that and mostly the way I feel when I'm done.
Draw something. Last drawing was of a 24" X 24" rose.
Home decor is my favorite thing to do... for now I pretend and create ideas.
Pitch a softball or football.
Swim - Enjoy going to the gym at night.
Watch movies... last watched was Australia and 4 Christmas's
Read - now my book is The Abduction by Mark Gimenez.
Shop when I have money... and sometimes when I don't. jaw drop
Finding new favorite things. For now my favs are.... Frownies they help smooth out wrinkles.,( I wanted to wink there for some reason but I couldn't find a winking emotionicon.) Citrus water, Brighton ring called Lauratec, wild red grey and yellow tote. Robinson sweet red wine chilled in the freezer and its cheap. I've tried others I only like cheap, sweet and cold red... Gardenman Love Iron Chef America!!! Did you see the one where the Iron Chef's squared off?

Louie, is HGTV home and garden? I miss our home and garden channel.

TJ - I totally forgot about Dancing with the Stars. I learned to love that show when friend and I watched it (no sound of course) during a dreadful class with a rambly prof who never talked content! I also like the show So you think you can dance, although have just watched snippets so far on youtube.

And shopping when you have money! lol

The Iron Chef battle was epic Tiggy.

Bobby Flay is my favorite, he's always putting chipoltes and other tex-mex, southwestern flavors into his dishes.

HGTV is Home and Garden channel BTW.

GS and I love House Hunters on it.

*sigh* They are a system devised by your body, along with your eyelashes, to help keep things from flying or creeping into your eyeballs! AND, so that we can raise them when we are trying to make a really really good point (or when we raise them completely unintentionally when we are very very surprised).

I do puzzles. Any kind of a puzzle I'll do. Which isn't to say I don't have my favorite kinds, but they are rare and hard to find. I especially like them if they are special in any way ~ glow in the dark, sparkle, uniquely shaped.....but really any old puzzle will do in a pinch. And yes, I have been in a pinch for a puzzle before. Literally, in my sweatpants, at the local Fred Meyer at 10 pm, searching for something sparkly.....

Watching "Whose Line Is It Anyway" recordings with my kids. We are all addicts to that show. Something we can always all agree on ~ a very rare thing indeed.

Bowling. I love it when I am getting an 88 and when I am getting a 218 (these two scores did occur within 6 days of each other, I am working on becoming more consistent, which usually looks like the 144-166 range) ~ much to the confusion of my new teammates on the new bowling league...

BWAHAHAHA. That's about all I have time for with my full-time job, Masters program, and single homeowner/mother, too! All made possible with copious amounts of coffee..........

Boy do I understand all the above! I used to say that the hardest things I have been through went in the following order: first husband's death, both husband 1 and 2's affairs, childhood sexual abuse, single motherhood and maybe childbirth (there's an definate end in sight with that one Smile ). Definately grad school is up in the top 3 now.

Might I suggest that chocolate along with copious amounts of coffee can make multiple things possible all at the same time. Laughing

Are you still double majoring Spidey?

I was just being silly too! Eyebrows are not rocket surgery, after all. ;-)

They won't let me in Graduate school! WTH? Just a Masters of Counseling now.

I really do love having a full life, though. Even though it is busy. I appreciate and enjoy the time I have so much more with my kids now, and my friends.

I think now, looking back, it was amazing that I didn't go NUTS having such a simple life before. Actually, maybe I was slightly nuts....

When are you done with your program, Tiggy?

Laughing Err. Silly is in.

I wanted to double up when I went into grad school, well, sort of. I wanted to sign up for a program that teaches how to work with kiddos with autism, something dear to my heart since our little one was dx with it. But both programs said no.

It would not have been possible anyway, with my available time. In just my 1 program I was double full time, taking 16-18 credits every term! Eek To simply survive I had to get back to basics and I had no time for anything.

To answer your question though... Smile I am starting to look a J-O-B Dancing because I will graduate next June. I just finished ALL of my classes!!! banana All I have left is my evidence based project (thesis type project - I have to research then implement a therapy method on a client and compare my results to the literature) and 2 externships - one in a school and one in a medical facility.

I am so glad you are enjoying your life. You really deserve it Spidey!!!
