I received some really excellent cookies this weekend. They appeared to be home made (or at least home-baked, which is the same thing to me). The addressing was a RIOT!

Thanks, HoFS!!!

I let him taste one. They lasted about an hour or so. Cyclical hormonal fluctuations coincided with the arrival of the cookies this weekend. Trying to take them from me would have been dangerous. Razz

why do I see the seagulls in Finding Nemo flying around saying "mine, mine, mine"?? Crazy

Okay... well I don't need Hof's cookies cause I have a cookie receipe that is easy and is the rave of all my friends... Wizard

I do like Hof's..he's a very nice man
BUT....
I wish I was the center of a particular man's attentions (just not Hof's...he's all YOURs J)
and if this man baked anything I think I might just faint....dead away... jaw drop

And as much as we all could use some of Hof's cookies at the moment..I do believe that Tak deserves them truly... Angel

As for Cookies other meaning.. please don't tell my daughters...they'll never look at my cookies the same again Eek

Must take more notes:

1. Women are suckers for men that bake. stirring the pot

Does cooking anything else count? I actually like to cook, and am pretty good at it. Unfortunately I am too unmotivated to ever cook much for myself alone, but given the opportunity (hopefully sooner than later) can set a pretty good table.

Note 2: Buy new dishes. (gave the old ones away because XW had picked them out and I was triggered by them in the move) Duh!

Note 3: Beware (and aware) of cyclical hormonal fluctuations. Help

Note 4: Everyone should be the center of someone else's attention (in the meantime, my world revolves around me) valentine

Joe, there are other things that count. If you like to ballroom dance, and have taken the time to learn to lead, that counts for a lot. (Dancing is the most intimate thing you can do in public. Really.)

Cooking is good. Baking is good. Anything that is loving and that you can make a regular part of your life is good. One-time special occasions are nice, but building a life together means finding a way to make loving and caring an everyday thing.

Here's another big one. Learn to converse. NOT talk. Interesting though your day was, a recitation of every single detail of your work, in a monotone, with pauses for "how nice dear" and "I'm so glad, dear" is not a conversation.

On the other hand, if you would like to have a woman happy as a clam, you tell her about all the moments when you paused to think of her, when you recalled that you loved her, when you saw something that really inspired you that you wanted to tell her about (a core values thing, please, not a baseball score), then you're headed in the right direction.

In fact, I'm going to make a blanket statement and say that anything that involves back-and-forth discussion about a core values item is probably a good bet for a conversational winner.

Oh yes! Second that. From one who is completely inexperienced - THIS ADVICE IS A WINNER. I'd LOVE to be able to do something besides the meat market bump and grind. Frown

Thanks J, I hope that everyone realizes that much of the time I'm just kidding about some of this stuff. I'm scared of dating and making light of it makes it easier to bear. I actually tend to be quite attentive, but have to work on conversation skills. I should probably thank my mother for the three years of dance lessons that she had me take. I have always liked to dance, but XW had lost interest over the years so I'm out of practice. Let's see, I learned the waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, polka, square dancing, two step, west coast swing, lindy hop, jitterbug, etc. Gotta dust off my dancin' shoes.

Jeepers, Joe, that's fantastic! Will you teach HoFS? I think he's got the talent, but is afraid to show it.
