Hi!

It is true. SB and Lucy are gettting married February 14!

I'll post the details as time allows. Any wishing to attend let me know. Ceremony and reception planned for 11am to 3pm in SE Michigan.

dawg

We've known one another for over 30 years. Our children and extended families also know one another.

The former Hermit Hacienda is rather active these days with 3 daughters, 2 sons, at least 2 dogs, extended family, and extra teenagers that show up when the food is good (fairly often)...

Thanks for all your support and patience!
SB

I'm trying to live my life...a task so difficult that it's never been attempted before
Hundreds of years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... But the world may be different because I did something so bafflingly crazy that my ruins become a tourist attraction.

Big Grin

Hi!

2 weeks out and much activity going on...

Suits for my son's are done, I'm all set. Dress and related paraphinalia are reportedly coming together.

Weather here has been challenging, slowing the errands that attend a wedding, but we're doing fine.

All the best,
SB & Lucy

twister We're Married!!

The run up to the wedding was hectic. The ceremony was lovely, dress was amazing, Bride was radiant, weather cooperated pretty well.

No major issues that we heard about with logistics, food, etc...

We headed down to the Hocking Hills area in South East Ohio for the honeymoon. We rented a remodeled 1840's log cabin with a jacuzzi, etc... It was wonderful. We ate well, did some hiking, etc... Red Face!

Lucy's DD's 16, 20, and 22 and my DS's 12 & 14 all helped out and are doing well.

Thanks to everyone here for all the support and encouragement over the years!

New job responsibilities keep me pretty tied up and offline...

We're in the process of moving Lucy in. The Washer and Dryer are next on the list...

Nerd

P - Thanks. For the other Nerds... The actual order upon returning from the honeymoon:

Lucy and I spent the night at her home. Then we moved into my home. Then Lucy's Sleep Number Bed then next day.

We finally ran out of milk, eggs, and the like yesterday and went grocery shopping.

The Washer, Dryer, and even the large format TV are still waiting.

Celebrate campfire

Sunshine

Just stopped by to say, "Hello" and read the posts since I last checked in.

First, I want to apologize to those of you who wanted to be invited to the wedding. Just between us, getting a list from SB of his friends to invite was a challenge! If there was a symbol with a mountain climber on it, I would have inserted it here! Smile Yes, I did get a list from him...3 weeks before the wedding, and his mom helped me track down addresses to go with the names, however his side of the church was filled with about half people from my side so the church didn't look lopsided during the wedding.

A friend of mine told me that her wedding was at a Greek Orthodox church that was very strict when it came to seating the guests on the "bride's side vs the groom's side" (probably cause they weren't too enthusiastic about her being caucasion, Canadian raised in the Salvation Army church when he was supposed to have chosen a bride when his parents sent him to summer in Greece with relatives before their wedding!). Anyway, at her wedding, she said that, if the church had been a ship, it would have capsized due to all the weight on her side of the church and the lack of people on his groom's side! By the way, this friend and her husband are in the wedding party..see if you can spot them. They walked down the isle together and he looks pretty Greek (as he is). She's wearing a solid dark red dress with a v neck and cap sleeves. Their oldest daughter was one of our bridesmaids, dressed in a solid red suit and their middle daughter videotaped the wedding and reception. Their youngest, 18-year-old son had to work. They will be celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary this Sunday. She is the woman who arranged all the flowers used for the wedding and reception as one of their many gifts to us. The 2 of them took on the responsibility of setting up the reception in the basement of the church and arrived with their family at 9:30am during the morning snow storm before our wedding! What a blessing good friends are!

Anyway, here's the link to the Kodak Gallery where our Wedding and Honeymoon photos are, along with some others from last summer. SeekingBetter said that I could share the link on this site. He is far enough past his 1st marriage that he feels safe to do so...

http://www.kodakgallery.com/Sh...fm5d5&localeid=en_US

Thank you for all of your words of congratulations and support.

Until we meet again... Waving

Nice pics!

It looks like it was a marvelous occasion. Good idea to let all those folks have flexibility with their clothes. They all actually look -happy- to be wearing what they're wearing! Smile
